Get CAV (Credential Authentication)

Gather Client Contracts
Collect contracts proving your remote work arrangement. This proves you have ongoing work that can be done from Spain.
Prepare Financial Documents
Gather bank statements, invoices, and proof of income to demonstrate financial stability.
Prepare CV/Resume
Create a professional CV highlighting your remote work experience and qualifications.
Apostille All Documents
Get all required documents apostilled. The apostille certifies documents for international use in Hague Convention countries.
Translate Documents to Spanish
Get official Spanish translations of all required documents. Must be done by a sworn translator.
UGE Application Processing
Your UGE application has been submitted. Now begins the waiting period - typically 20 working days. Use this time wisely!
Starting Point
Your UGE visa has been approved! These confirmations mark the beginning of your official residency journey.
Dependent Documents
If traveling with spouse or family, gather their documents. Each dependent needs their own set of documents.
While Waiting
Make the most of your waiting period. You can travel Schengen countries, scout for housing, and prepare for life in Spain.
Foundation
Build your Spanish life foundation. These tasks can be done in parallel - Spain rewards parallel execution, not waiting in sequence.
Travel Preparation
Plan your trip to Spain. Get your Schengen visa, book flights, and arrange accommodation.
TIE Activation
Apply for your TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) - your physical residency card. Must apply within 30 days of UGE approval.
Post-TIE
Complete remaining tasks after your TIE application. Some tasks require your TIE card, others can be done with the resguardo.
